It operates differently from a spring-loaded button, initiating jaw movement upon pressure rather than relying on a button mechanism. While there's some adjustability, it doesn't match the extent found in higher-end thumb releases. Applying a touch of graphite lubricant resolved a slight gritty metal-on-metal sensation within the mechanism. However, it feels relatively lightweight in a negative sense; durability seems questionable, as a minor ding appeared after a knee-height drop.
Nevertheless, it serves as an excellent 'introductory' thumb release, facilitating the development of habits and aiding in establishing a new anchor point.
